In 1973, Wiech others set up Parmatech company, when MIM was still in the bud. It was until 1979 that its products won two prizes in the international powder metallurgy conference product design competition that attracted the attention of the powder metallurgy industry. After Parmatech transferred several of their patents, MIM companies built up one after another. In 1980, Wiech set up Witec company. In 1982, Brunswick entered the MIM industry bought Witec company. Later, it gradually registered Omark industries, Remington military products, Rocky dental companies. In 1986, Nippon Seison introduced the Wiech process in Japan. In 1990, the Israeli Metalor 2000 company introduced the MIM process Parmatech company established the MIM production line. The research of MIM technology in China started in the early 80s. It was undertaken by the 53 Research Institute of China ordnance industry, the South China University of technology University of Science Technology Beijing respectively. After more than ten years of exploration, the technology has basically matured, 1996 to 2000, the company has been established to achieve the industrialization mode. By the end of 1997, more than 300 companies institutions in the world were engaged in research, development, production consulting of MIM technology. By the end of 1999, the total output value of the global MIM industry will be US $1 billion (at present, traditional powder metallurgy is US $1 billion 500 million advanced ceramics is US $600 million). In recent years, the annual growth rate of MIM industry is about 32%. It is estimated that the total sales of MIM products will reach US $2 billion 400 million by 2010.
